Purpose: This exercise is challenging, as it strengthens both your quadriceps and gluteus medius (outside of your hip) while standing on one leg. This will help to improve your balance and greatly increase the strength required to jump and run, especially on uneven surfaces or cutting back and forth.

How to do it:

* Stand on one foot on a step stool or step.

* Slowly lower the other foot down to the ground tapping your heel lightly.

*Try not to let your knee wobble left or right as you lower your body weight down.

* Repeat this 5 times before switching legs.
